TDC 2010 Beginners / Novice Championship |
|
Hi All, Had a chat with Frank Lenehan and Joe Doran about the TDC International Autotest on the 8th/9th May 2010.. Frank and Joe thought it would be a good idea to use the second day, Sunday, as the first round of the Beginner/Novice autotest championship and design the tests accordingly.. I think it's a great idea and would appreciate your feedback/comments.. Please let me know if wish to attend.. No point to it if we can't generate enough interest...
Beginners, Novices and Experts are all welcome and I think we should include the experts as a seperate class in the championship table..
Similar to last season, the tests will be designed to help hone your driving skills and will not be as focused on remembering lengthy tests..

if ure gona have experts too why not call it the tdc club championship and have a beginners challenge section? Kinda like the europa cup in the hewison. But yea that sounds good. The tests as they were on the second day last year would have been fine for beginners

Might have a chat about that Guy.. Yes, last years tests were designed by myself and Ronnie with beginners in mind. They ended up a little tight in places though..

Great to see you out at last Keith, car looks great.
I recon the championship should be kept as a beginners championship, with novices and experts points table kept but only as a sideline to the beginners. Experts should be there to support and help beginners, not to steal their thunder.

As someone who'll be starting from scratch this year, the more events that are available the better.

Just realised the 9th May clashes with the ALMC Motor Show at CityNorth Hotel. Not sure if that would be an issue for people.

I'd love to do it too. They were so much fun last year, and I learned loads. Prepared me for the Hewison events this year. Think my brother might give the beginners events a go this year too. I presume this event will be in Mondello. What would also be good is a night out for the beginners championship!!

Good stuff Rory, I think it is unlikely it will be in Mondello..
J, Nothing we can do about moving the date as its set in stone...
Hopefully there will now be 6 rounds to this championship this year.. Plenty of practice and good fun..
