Derek Tohill ERC Champion

Derek Tohill won the battle of the event, the Dubliner becoming the first Irish driver ever to win the European Rallycross Championship and ending what has been a fine campaign in the best possible style by winning the final round in the Czech Republic this afternoon.
The title battle came down to a straight fight between Tohill and defending champion Knut Ove Børseth after the latter won the B final. The start and first corner of the A final was rough, but all six cars made it through the turn, pole starter Ole Håbjørg going off later in the lap and then retiring his battered BMW.
Lars Øivind Enerberg led the race, Tohill coming through to second place. With Børseth running fourth, that would have been enough for the title, but when Enerberg then suffered a puncture at the start of the last lap, Tohill moved swiftly through to take the lead and seal the title with his fourth event win of the year.

I was gonna start this thread but I thought I'd let Derek's biggest fan have the honours, Damian Very Happy
