Gap after Test 5 – 17.7 secs

Test 6 -
Eamonn took 0.1 off Sam to lead the Mini class by 0.9
David beat Raymond by 6.7 to take the class lead by 0.4
Simon beat Paul by 1.7
Eddie dropped 1.0 to Steven

Gap now 10.2 with two tests left

Test 7 – Heavy shower of rain just before Minis went.
Eamonn got the worst of it, Sam was 2.0 quicker to take the class lead for
the first time since test 1
David beat Raymond by another 0.9
Simon got 0.3 on Paul
Eddie and Stevie dead level

Gap 11.0 starting the final test.

Test 8 -
Eamonn took 0.4 off Sam – team gap 10.6 – Sam wins Mini saloon class by 0.7
David flew, beat Raymond by 3.7 – gap down to 6.9 – David wins Nova class
Simon got 0.3 on Paul (again) – gap 6.6 with just Mini Specials to come
(England’s Richard Pinkney wins sports car class by 26.9s after dominating
all day)
Eddie 0.1 slower than previous time, Stevie took things carefully to make
sure not to break anything, 2.3 slower than Eddie

RESULT –

Northern Ireland regain Ken Wharton Memorial Trophy by 4.3 seconds

Ireland second after fighting back from 34.8s deficit after three tests

England a distant third after lots of car problems

Individuals –
Alastair Moffatt led for most of the day but a broken CV
joint on the final test cost him a fail –
Steven Ferguson took a last
minute win by 4s from Richard Pinkney, Sam Bowden, Eamonn Byrne, Moffatt
and Eddie Peterson.

Reserves –
J J Farrell (2s behind Pinkney) from Robin Lyons and Chris Grimes

More detail later plus hopefully some photos
