We already have a few teams entered for the hotly contested Team Competition. First up is the tiny but aptly named "Mighty Midgets" consisting of Will Corry, Andrew O'Donohue & Ashley Lamont, they will be challenged for top honours by the " Jap Crap Team" Frank Lenehan heads up this team and his two wing men are Declan Hendrick & Liam Cashman. "Johnny and the Jets" have also thrown their hats into the ring. Hurricane John Nolan is captaining this trio and will be helped or perhaps hampered by myself and Damien Philips in his bid for glory.

If anyone else would like to join in the team fun please email me @patricia@tdcireland.com

Thanks Mick another year younger Smile
The teams don't have to be the same make car so I'm sure you will be able to find another team member. Maybe Donal or Piers could fill the hot seat.

If anyone would like to be on a team and is short a driver let me know and we will try and fill the slot. The team challenge will add to the fun and slagging on the day.I'm sure there will be an epic battle for the top spot. We have a brilliant selection of tests lined up for this and will raise much needed funds for Barnardos in the process.

The team Challenge is proving very popular and we are delighted to confirm 3 more teams.

ALMC have selected their finest drivers for this event and have entered "Team Chaos" aka the good the bad & the ugly. (their words not mine so I will leave it to them to work out who is who:) Lyndsay Doran heads up this promising team and will be ably assisted by Joe Downey and Noel Devlin.

Mick Kehoe , Jack Quinn & Damien Doran are flying the Octane flag. This is a mixed team of Peugeots & a Mini and they are hoping for a good result. All three have competed in these type of events before with good success however Jack had a misfire with his alarm clock on the last TDC event but has assured his fellow team members he will have it sorted for this event.

Next up is the "Monster Minis" - This potent team includes Eamonn Byrne, Robert Dickson & James Wilson. The "Monsters" will be fast and tidy on all tests and will be hard to beat however I think the "Mighty Midgets" and "The Jap Crap Team" will keep them on their toes.

If there is anyone who is a confirmed entry and is unable to make it can you please do your fellow competitors (on the reserve list) a favour and let me know asap. Also if there are any drivers who would like to enter the Team Challenge please let me know as we are finalising the running order in the next few days. Thanks again to all who have sent in their entries and we appreciate your cooperation with the above.

We have another welcome addition to the team challenge - " The Savage Saloons "
Underestimate this team at your peril! Guy Foster in his nimble Mini is leading this team and with the help of Richard & David Meeke in their quick Corsa, they plan to give the joint favourites i.e. the Monsters, Mightys and the Jap Crap Team a run for their money.

The latest team to show their hand is a local squad who are code named "The
Tullyallen Mafia " This fearsome and covert trio is the mastermind of God Father John Devine and his accomplishes are son Martin and Martin Murphy. They could be the dark horse's of the team challenge event as you can rest assured they will risk all in their quest to uphold local honour.

Evening all, please see the final instructions for Sunday

Times
Sign on 8:30 am
First Car starts 9:30 am

Passengers / Navigators
All passengers & navigators must sign on and pay €5 personal accident insurance premium.

Seat Belts
Seat belts are mandatory for both driver and passenger on all tests and road sections.

Tyres
Only road tyres are allowed on the driven wheels, no M&S or Knobbly tyres are allowed

Double Drivers
On tests where the start and finish are located in the same location, the 1st driver does the test and then returns to the start of the test to swap drivers. We have put another car between the double drivers so by the time this car has finished the test the 2nd driver can slot back in.

On tests where the start and finish are in different locations, the first driver starts as normal without the 2nd driver. The start marshal will instruct you as to the correct route to return to the start where they can slot back in for the 2nd driver. The first driver needs to be a passenger for the 2nd driver on these tests.

Starting Tests
We have a full entry and a busy schedule i.e. 19 tests in total so it is important that all drivers arrive at the start of the tests ready to go.

Fuel
There are ample petrol stations along the route. There is also one in Slane at the top of village on the Derry Road.

Lunch
Lunch (after test 10 ) will be at Slane Farm Hostel, Harlinstown House Slane. Soup & sandwiches are included in the entry fee. We expect the first car here @ 1 pm

Please help us to ensure that this event is a great success by following the instructions of the officials and marshals at all times.

Thank you for supporting TDC & Barnardos and we wish you a very enjoyable and safe day.

Best of luck!

Yes a great day's fun, with really enjoyable tests. The "field" was by far the best, with the grip level on the afternoon run producing my biggest grin of the day.

Well done JJ, Joe et al.

Look forward to seeing Peter's pics

Off to dust down the '02 Smile
