Midland Motor club rally |
|
Hi Guys
A member of the club has asked to to post here
The Midland Motor club are considering running a historic class in there stages rally this year. They propose running a front and rear wheel drive class, mainly to give the mini a fair chance against the likes of escorts ect
If anyone is interested in taking part please let me know as there are trying to gauge interest to run the class.
Joe

Think your barking up the wrong tree here!
Not very many of us would have cars suitable for the stages as autotest, retro and multivenue cars wouldnt be eligable to compete.
Try on www.rallyforums.com. It would be a very good place to get some good feedback.

Hi Guyfo
I think your absolutly right , however john told me they ran a multivenue last year and got a great responce from this forum, but as you said, for good reason.
I think his idea is that some people on this forum may have minis suited to take part so maybe the word would spread.
Thanks for you comment though

Hi Joe,
Where would the minimum spec for the cars taking part in the class?
Do the seats and harness have to be in date?
Would a fire system & electrical cutoff be required?
Etc. etc.
Things like that would be important as our multi venue cars might not be of sufficient spec. for this type of event.

Just to correct you on this. Birr MC ran a Multi Venue Autotest last year for the 1st Time. Midland MC DID NOT.
The Forum Users of this site supported the event in many different ways and this was very much appreciated.
Get your facts right before you post any further information.

Sorry Eoin, my mistake
Regarding spec, I would say it would be historic spec, so seats, harnesses, ect would have to be in date, as I m not involved in the organisation of this event, I could only say keep an eye on their website when the regs come out
Thanks a million for all your replies
kindest regards
Joe
