31st March 2012: TDC Endurance Trial

Cork have reacted to the Dubs and have sent in the heavy artillery in the form of Liam and Michael Cashman, they will be backed up by fellow Corkorian Ian O'Brien who has Meath man Eoin Longworth on the notes. Corkmen seem to favour the reliability of the Starlets!

The Meath squad is growing in strength with the addition of Ted & Karen Gaffney who recently enjoyed a class win in their Golf on the "Le Jog Historic Endurance Rally " Newcomers Gary Emmett who has Alan Binley alongside are debuting their MG ZR and they will be keen to get another successful Endurance Trial under their belts. Andy Hennessy and Peter Murphy are another crew who have shown recent good form with a class victory on the Galway International Rally.

This event is turning in to an all Ireland affair with the addition of the O'Toole brothers from Longford. Sean and Declan are an experienced pair who are more used to stage rallying but they have both adapted very well to their new discipline and less powerful car.

Another welcome addition is the all Fermanagh team of Ernie Campbell and David Johnston in their Mini Cooper. Class 5 is hotting up with the addition of two Wicklow men in Escorts. Danny O'Donohoe who has his sister Luci for company and Martin Nugent & Colm Dwyer. The Meekes are making it a family affair with Richard swapping seats and letting David take over the steering. Joe and Nikki Doran are another family crew who have a wealth of experience and are sure to feature in the final line up.

TDC are very excited about the variety of tests that lie in wait for competitors on their inaugural Endurance Trial. The high quality entry list already includes champions from different forms of motorsport disciplines driving an eclectic mix of cars ranging from Mini's to Mx-5's.

The Dubs reckon there is strength in numbers and have made a few additions to their squad in the form of Stephen Briggs and Brian McConnell. Stephen enjoyed a successful shake down of his new Starlet at the recent IMRC event. They will be joined by Cathal O'Carroll and Maurice McMonagle in a Mini. Endurance Trial debutantes Stephen Cullen and Aidan Kent will be also be at the start line for the Dubs.

Wicklow have hit back at the Dubs with an ace in the form of Simon Echlin in his Escort RS 1800, Simon who has Clifford Auld for company will be one to watch out for on the leaderboard.

We are delighted to welcome Galway Motor Club members, Bobby Clinton & Dave Ray in their agile Mini. They are another crew who will be keen to show their competitors a clean pair of heels ahead of their own Endurance Trial later this year.

Navigator update!

We have a couple of navigators available so If there are any drivers contemplating doing this event and need a navigator please contact me @ 087 2605502 or by email at patricia@tdcireland.com

A gentle reminder that entries close on Sunday ( March 25th ) and we'll post the seeded entry list online on Monday night.

***Important notice re competition Licences***

One day licences are NOT permitted.

Drivers need Road National B or any Stage Rally grade National A B or International.
Navigators need a navigators licence or Road National B or any Stage Rally grade National A B or International.
Drivers competing under a MSA licence need the equivalent.
All drivers must hold a current IRDS / BRDS certificate and will be required to produce it at signon.

Paypal facility now in place for the very, very late entry, if you want.

In your Paypal Account, you can pay via payments@tdcireland.com.

Will make life simpler in the future.
