Hi all,

I am competing in the Jimmy Peak Multi-Venue Autotest in Lisburn on the 29th.
It will be my first time competing, so if anyone has any tips, I'd be glad to hear them.

Thanks Very Happy

Hi, You can find some information here:-

Link

Try starting off steady, keep your driving tidy, learn as you go and enjoy. If you put in a lot off effort learning the tests you will be able to give more of your focus over to driving. Easier said than done though...

One thing a lot of beginners have difficulty with is avoiding the instinct to disengage the clutch in a FWD when braking for pylons etc. The idea is to drive hard towards the pylon, brake hard, (do not disengage the clutch) coming near to a stall, back hard on the power and drive around the pylon (using the handbrake of course) rather than carrying in too much speed, doing a 180 and having to get going from standstill to compete circling the pylon.

Thanks Piers

I'll try to keep that in mind and hope that I don't get too overwhelmed on the day Very Happy

Just don't expect too much of yourself. You will make mistakes and probably fail a test or two, but instead focus on learning as much as possible.
