I don't know for sure but I'd imagine its to keep these events as much as possible to the regs they currently run under and not draw attention to this great discipline
The last thing we want is more regs and scrutiny

Ok I just figured out the reason, and it's a good one, but to ban on board cameras wont stop the many iPhone users from recording. Perhaps requesting people to only use their videos for private viewing and not post them on youtube would be an idea, as a ban on the use of on board cameras may in fact be illegal, but then can everyone be trusted to keep them private.

Re the on-board camera question.
In the MSA (not sure about RIAC but I imagine the rules are similar) you are forbidden to use them on events that use the public road and as multi-venue events usually use road sections to link the tests they are held on a navigation permit.
More importantly what land/yard owner wants his private property photographed and posted to all and sundry on the likes of U-tube and facebook etc?
Have a thought for their privacy. Without the landowners we would have no sport.
If you start to attract spectators you will lose sites, have to create spectator areas and also marshal them.

Hi All, Thank you for your entry to TDC's Mondello MVAT. I have written a Final Instruction which is aimed at helping new comers to the sport.
Firstly please note your group number, it will determine the test you will be starting on:
Test 1: Group 5
Test 2: Group 4
Test 3: Group 3
Test 4: Group 2
Test 5: Group 1
Final Instructions:
Please arrive as early as possible for sign-on. Your compliance would be greatly appreciated. No sign-on after drivers briefing at 0915. Sign-on opens at 0800 and is located this year in the control tower, NOT in suite 1.
There will be Drifting going on in the paddock throughout the day, this area is off limits to drivers and spectators alike.
The format for the event is as follows:
• 5 Tests completed 4 times.
• 1 Minute interval starts.
• Please go straight to your relevant starting test after drivers briefing.
• You must travel through the end of Test 3 to get to Test 4 and Test 5. Ask marshal.
• Countdown Start. Marshals will count you down to start. No hanging around in the queues.
• Please queue in running order to start with. Once underway, it’s up to you to keep moving.
• Please allow double drivers to skip the queue, within reason. If at all possible, try to facilitate them.
• No dodging or driving around chicanes. Penalty will be a disqualification.
• No taking short cuts across the grass. Penalty will be a fail.
• There will be pylons “guarding” chicanes and other areas, so if these are knocked, will incur a 5 second penalty.
• Approach chicanes at a low speed.
• All Finish Lines are stop astride. Front 2 wheels Stop and then pull up to marshal.
• The non-competitive sections are to be driven at low speed, so no messing.
• Please put your car numbers on your cars’ rear quarter light window or equivalent.
• Please ensure that you are familiar with your test before you start. Arrows have been put in place, but remember to circle a pylon and not drive past it, if this is the case. For all beginners, this is very important, make sure you’re comfortable with where you have to go before you start, don’t just assume it’ll be arrowed or you’ll figure it out when you get there.
• Lap belts to be worn at all times, marshals will be checking. Failure will incur a fail penalty for that test. Also, please keep your windows rolled up.
• Keep OFF the grass, 5 second penalty for each occurrence. Also, if you do end up on the grass, please do not keep the boot in, drive gingerly back on to the circuit. If you are caught keeping her light, you will incur another 5 second penalty. Pylons have been placed to prevent this, 3 or 4 in some places, so knocking them all could result in a 15 or 20 penalty, you’ve been warned, stay OFF the Grass.
• All tests are visible at all times by the marshals; they can see you, even if you can’t see them. Obey any instructions or flags given by the marshals, they are there for your safety and also to catch you out if you hit pylons.
• No walking the tests during the day, except for Test 1, 2 and 5 which can walked up until drivers briefing. The earlier you arrive, the more time you’ll have to do this. No driving on tests even for warm up, you can drive to the start of test 1 and 2 to walk them. Any competitor caught driving on the tests before start will incur a Fail for that test.
• Parking will be in the paddock beside the control tower, on the main straight and to the right of gate 4 as you enter Mondello. Marshals will help with parking; early arrival will ensure a decent spot.
• Please hand in your completed time-cards as you pass the control tower. You Do Not need to return from the tests to do this, but please hand in your completed time cards as soon as you possibly can. Results for this event can be timely if competitors fail to do this. Marshals may ask you for completed timecards.
• There will be a 45 min lunch halt at 1300. The canteen in Mondello might be open to serve lunch, not yet finalised. Marshals are to be served first, please encourage them to jump the queue.
• This event is tasking on marshals, please comply gracefully with instructions.
See you all Saturday!
Mark

With regards starting in running order, Myself and Eoin are double driving and are 1 after eachother in the running order, is it necessary to start in order for times or something, or could we mix up a bit for the start?

For double drivers, it doesn't matter which starts first, but one driver must complete a full lap before the second also on the first lap the doubledriver can't sit in as a passenger

I can be difficult to return to the start of a test and will cause disruptions, it works best that double drivers complete laps before changing over.
