Post Reversing Lamp Replacement Reply with quote
My rear mounted reversing lamp has stopped working, the bulb is gone and unfortunately it's a sealed beam unit so I can't change the bulb.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get replacement lens units or am I looking for a complete unit?

Thanks,

J.

Any decent motorfactors should be able to get a sealed beam unit to go into it

I'll try taking the dud one into my local motor factor on Wednesday evening to see if they can help me out. Thanks.

Got it sorted, my motor factors had a conversion lamp on the shelf so at least if goes again I'll only need to replace the bulb. Thanks! Smile

I spoke too soon, it's too deep to fit the housing, looks like I'll have to return it and try to get a standard sealed beam unit Sad

Ah right.I have a set of genuine rover mini cooper spot lights and as far as I know they would be about that size.I can check and let you know. They take a halogen bulb so if it ever blew you could just change the bulb.

The conversion unit is a deeper unit, I assume to allow for the heat from the H1 bulb. The guys at the motor factors did think they could get the sealed unit. I think they are also used in motorbike lamps.

be careful with motorbike ones as they might be only 6volt. What wattage is the lamp you have and what is the depth of it, can check with a motor factors near work tomorrow
