I rang the COC, Michael Reilly (PH. 0830033271), yesterday to see how they are sorted. The answer is all ready to go, and is just looking for a few more competitors and marshalls.

ENTRIES WANTED He would like just a few more for that bit of added competitive edge. Don't be undecided ! Come along. Contact Amy Faughnan 083-0033271 or 087-7550874.

Marshalls Wanted Again, nothing desperate : he would just like three or four more bodies.
Anybody out there looking to find out what its all about : marshalling is a great way to learn the rules and meet the people who can answer questions.

A look at the tests shows favoured Multi-venue locations around yards and suchlike. Good stuff !

Looking forward to it ! See you there

Multi Venue Auto Test

Final Instructions No 1

Venue (HQ)

The Start Venue will be located in Johnston Farm Equipment, Athlone Road, Longford. This venue has plenty of parking for all vehicles and trailers. The first 2 tests will be located in Johnston Farm Equipment.

Timetable
Sign on 8:30 am
Drivers Briefing 9:45am
First Test starts 10:00am
Restart after Lunch 1:15 pm

Passengers / Navigators
All passengers & navigators must sign on and pay €5 personal accident insurance premium.
Walking of Tests
You can walk all tests except for Test 12/17 and 13/18 as time will not allow. All drivers must be ready to start tests promptly when instructed by marshall’s. Failure to adhere to this will lead to a test max time being applied. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Double Drivers
On tests where the start and finish are located in the same location, the 1st driver does the test and then returns to the start of the test to swap drivers. We have put another car between the double drivers so by the time this car has finished the test the 2nd driver can slot back in.
On Test 12/17 where the start and finish are in different locations, the first driver starts as normal without the 2nd driver. To get back to the start of the test, follow arrows marked “DOUBLE” where they can slot back in for the 2nd driver.
Lunch & Fuel Stop
Lunch (after test 9) will be at Fox’s Service Station Ballinalee. We expect the first car here @ 12.45pm and the first car will restart @ 1:15 pm.
Fuel
Petrol is available on route @ Texaco Red Cow Roundabout Longford. All Cars should be filled with petrol en route to the venue. There is no petrol available at the Start Venue.
Route Maps
All Drivers will be provided with a good quality Colour Marked Maps. All junctions not arrowed is straight through or stay on main road.
First car due to finish no later than 5:30pm. Please use the new N5 bypass from test 4 to test 5.
All stop boxes and lines will be manned by marshals
Please help us to ensure that this event is a great success by driving with care and consideration for other road users along the road sections. Any Crew/Driver observed driving in an inappropriate manner will be excluded and reported to Motorsport Ireland. Please follow the instructofficials and marshals at all times.

Thank you for supporting this event and we wish you a very enjoyable and safe day.

Best of luck!

Looking forward to Sunday. Michael, Amy, Shane and the lads have organised some brilliant test sites with the odd obstacle (Cars/Containers) thrown in for good measure. Some of the venues will be known by our navigation trial friends as they have featured on the recent Midland MC Navigation Trials.

Incidentally the National Navigation Trial prizegiving is taking place on Saturday night in Portlaoise with a number of MMC Lads taking home the silverware, some of whom are competing on Sunday notably Sam Johnston, Colin Duffy, Nigel McCloughry & Seamus McTigue who is double driving my car. Lads behave on Saturday night!!!! Colin & Seamus take note. Seamus has been out practicing lately in the Leitrim Hills using a quad!!!! Hopefully it wont be required on Sunday.

See you all on Sunday.

P.S Entries still being accepted, so come on lads & lassies give your support for the 1st Midland MC MVAT.
