1st December 2013: TDC Howard Wilde Memorial Autotest

Nearly all set for Sunday, for the re-scheduled event, Please note that it is Sunday event, whereas the original was to be Saturday. 10.00am for 11.00 start

On the original date, I was sitting at the junction at the foot of Cruagh Hill, turn-off to the Pine Forest. The line of Escorts, Mini's, Retro and Endurance rally cars was super. And then a blast across to Glencullen. Individualistic ; just like The Vin himself. My personal most memorable of him was his speach when he won the TDC Beginners autotest championship. Coming from a night nav background he started with "I used think you were all just a load of handbrake pullers !" and then continued to give one of the best and funniest speaches I have ever heard. Rest well, dear friend !

And a note to everybody : we are somewhere else; so to speak. Not down in the usual corner but turn RIGHT at entrance and head down the back to the Racing School control area.

Great Event and really though tests. Sore Shoulders today even with power steering.

Thanks to all the patient Marshal's and helpful fellow competitors especially Stephen Briggs for the tutition on Test 4.
