Guys,

Does anyone have a definition of what the IRDS scheme covers with regards insurance on MVAT's

The question is if a claim is made against a competitor on one of the road sections on the day of the event is the IRDS on the hook for the claim and not ones own motor policy... Which begs the question do we need insurance on a car for the day of the event??

Thanks

Mick

I think your standard motor insurance is void when competing in a motorsport event, hence the need for IRDS. IRDS covers you on the event route only, not on the way there etc so no need for additional insurance if you trailer to and from the event.
