This excellent event will take place on Sunday 28th Jan 2018 at the Mondello Park Circuit, Kildare.

Avail of the opportunity to enjoy the magnificent Mondello International & Rallycross circuits. The emphasis will be on fun flowing simple tests that will suit all levels.

The surfaces used are, for the most part, smooth and transmission friendly so you can bring out your pride and joy confident that any suffering it might sustain will be entirely down to you.

Please arrive as early as possible for sign-on. Your compliance would be greatly appreciated. No sign-on after drivers briefing at 09:15. Sign-on opens at 08:00

Please don't arrive to sign-on without knowing your assigned number as this will slow the process.

Important note: Running order is not a seeded entry list. Experience and double drivers will be dispersed throughout the field to speed things along.

We would like to thank the Management & Staff at Mondello Park for their help & support in hosting this TDC event

Please note that that as per autotest regulations a roll hoop needs to be fitted if you intend to drive a convertible without a hardtop

This is a great entry so far, at this stage it's looking like we could fill the entry early.

5 tests completed 4 times, so 20 tests in total, using all of Mondello, which includes the rallycross, national and international circuit and some off piste sections.

Absolutely fantastic entry list coming together for this, just tipped over the 40 mark. I'm told there are a few more on the way so anyone on the fence should get the entries in ASAP to avoid disappointment.

Entries have just reached the 70 mark and it's looking like we may have to close entries sooner than expected if the current rate keeps up. We previously ran up to 80 competitors for this event two years ago so for anyone who intends to compete please get your entries in ASAP to avoid the disappointment of missing what is sure to be the best clubman motorsport event of 2018.

Having a quick scan through the entry list, it's obvious there's a nice mix of cars coming out to play in Mondello. Among the usual mix of Starlet's and MX5's, a few MR2's thrown into the mix should keep things interesting on what is likely to be a damp and greasy Mondello circuit. As always the retro stuff such as Escorts, Midget's and MGB's are always a joy to watch at full chat. A close eye will be kept on Matt Walsh who should be well used to his BGT at this stage and getting to drive it in a style it was very used to in it's previous ownership with Ronnie Griffin.

The continued support from friends north of the border is also hugely appreciated, and Andy Johnson's well turned out Chevette will no doubt be a favourite among competitors and marshals alike.

Final seeding will be done a few days prior to the event, with emphasis on mixing experts and novices throughout the field and as always keeping competitors that usually like to travel around together close to each other. If there are any specific requests for this, please get in touch with myself, Philip O'Reilly, through the email address on the regulations.

Once again, get those last few entries in people!

Just one week left to get an entry in for this. With the entry list now approaching the 90 mark it's one of the biggest entries we've ever had for a TDC event.

With just over 90 confirmed entries we have taken the decision to close the entry list early to ensure the smooth running of the event.

There have been a small number of withdrawn entries which should leave the total entry at approximately 90 starters, a number that will be manageable for the organisers, timekeepers and marshals on the day.

Final instructions will be posted this week along with a grouped entry list advising all competitors of their starting order.

Thank you to all competitors who get their entries in early and allowing us the best opportunity to manage an event with such demand.

Post Final Instructions Reply with quote
Many thanks for your entry to TDC’s Mondello Park Autotest.

Please arrive as early as possible for sign-on. Your compliance would be greatly appreciated. No sign-on after drivers briefing at 0915. Sign-on opens at 0800 and is located this year in suite 1, above the Pit Garages. Enter Mondello Park through Gate 4.

The format for the event is as follows:
• 5 Tests completed 4 times.
• 1 Minute interval starts.
• Please go straight to your relevant starting test after drivers briefing.
• Countdown Start. Marshals will count you down to start.
• Please queue in running order to start with. Once underway, it’s up to you to keep moving. Please keep a move on during the day. If you are slow you will hold everyone up at the end of day waiting for results.
• Please allow double drivers to skip the queue, within reason. If at all possible, try to facilitate them. Double drivers will display an orange sticker on front and rear windscreens.
• No dodging or driving around chicanes. Penalty will be a disqualification.
• No taking short cuts across the grass. Penalty will be a Fail.
• There will be pylons “guarding” chicanes and other areas, so if these are knocked, will incur a 5 second penalty.
• Keep OFF the grass, 5 second penalty for each occurrence. Pylons have been placed to prevent this, 3 or 4 in some places, so knocking them all could result in a 15 or 20sec penalty. If you do end up on the grass and you decide to keep the boot in, you’ll be awarded a ‘FAIL’, this decision is at the marshal’s discretion, you’ve been warned.
• Chicanes are all 1st gear manoeuvres.
• All Finish Lines are stop astride. Front 2 wheels Stop and then pull up to marshal.
• The non-competitive sections are to be driven at low speed, absolutely no messing.
• Please put your car numbers on both sides to facilitate marshals.
• For beginners, please ensure that you are familiar with your test before you start. Arrows have been put in place, but remember to circle a pylon and not drive past it, if this is the case.
• Seat belts to be worn at all times, marshals will be checking. Failure will incur a Fail penalty for that test. Also, please keep your windows rolled up.
• Obey any instructions or flags given by the marshals, they are there for your safety.
• Test 1, 4 and 5 can walked/driven slowly up until drivers briefing. Any competitors found driving at competition speeds will be disqualified. Test 2 and 3 cannot be walked. The earlier you arrive, the more time you’ll have to do this.
• Parking will be in the paddock beside the control tower. Marshals will help with parking.
• Please hand in your completed time-cards as you pass Suite 1. You Do Not need to return from the tests to do this, but please hand in your completed time cards as soon as you possibly can. Results for this event can be timely if competitors fail to do this. Marshals may ask you for completed timecards.
• The canteen in Mondello will be open from 8am, serving coffee and then a hot lunch to all. Not subsidised. There will be a 30 min lunch halt at 1230. This is mainly for the marshals to get a break and to get out of the cold and/or rain.
• This event is tasking on marshals, please comply gracefully with instructions.

Post Lunch Halt Reply with quote
Due to the large entry, in order to minimize queues for lunch, all non double drivers will stop at 12:30. Double drivers and marshals will stop at 12:45.

What a brilliant event. I was expecting it to be good, but it still surprised me at just how much fun the tests were. Well done to Eamonn of the win, with only seconds to spare. And a mention for the brilliant drive by Brian in the Ignis, who was in second place after the first loop.

Thanks to all the marshals and organisers who made the event run perfectly.

I just wish I didn't have to wait for a whole year to do it again.
