Birr Autotest 20/5/12 Final Instructions
Many thanks for your entry to BADMC’S Autotest.
Motorsport Ireland Steward: Tim Faulkner
Results Officer: James Lowry
Please arrive as early as possible for sign-on. Your compliance would be greatly appreciated. No sign-on after drivers briefing at 1115. Sign-on opens at 1000.
In order to speed sign on please ensure that you have the correct amount of money for your Entry Fee. Beginners/Novices €35 & others €50. All cheques/drafts/postal orders must be made payable to Birr and District Motor Club.
1 Day licences cost €25 and must be pre booked with Robert Nolan 086 0666663.
Limited numbers available.
Tests Starting Order
Test 1 1-14
Test 2 15-28
Test 3 29-40
Test 4 41-56
The format for the event is as follows:
• 4 Tests completed 3 times. (A Fourth Run may be done pending on Time)
• Please go straight to your relevant starting test after drivers briefing. The Link between the tests will be arrowed. All Tests will be numbered.
• Please queue in running order to start with. Once underway, it’s up to you to keep moving.
• Please allow double drivers to skip the queue, within reason. If at all possible, try to facilitate them.
• All finish lines are stop astride. Front 2 wheels Stop.
• The non-competitive sections are to be driven at low speed, so no messing.
• Please ensure that you are familiar with your test before you start. Arrows have been put in place, but remember to circle a pylon and not drive past it, if this is the case. For all beginners, this is very important, make sure you’re comfortable with where you have to go before you start, don’t just assume it’ll be arrowed or you’ll figure it out when you get there.
• Lap belts to be worn at all times, marshals will be checking. Failure will incur a fail penalty for that test. Also, please keep your windows rolled up.
• All tests are visible at all times by the marshals; they can see you, even if you can’t see them. Obey any instructions or flags given by the marshals, they are there for your safety and also to catch you out if you hit pylons.
• Please hand in your completed time-cards as soon as possible. Results for this event can be timely if competitors fail to do this.
• Please help and keep the venue tidy by using the Bins provided.
See you all Sunday!

Great buzz amongst the 25 or so Birr MC members that are contesting in some cases there first ever Autotest. All assistance & advice from the regular competitors appreciated.

The craic will be mighty and the jeering and messing will be epic. There will be pylons and gearboxes flying in all directions. Really looking forward to it

Well done to BADMC for a fantastic day, the tests were brilliant especially test 4 on the loose, I would have happily stayed at that test till dark! Great to see such a strong local entry who all seemed to be having fun. Many thanks to everyone involved including the dusty marshals, landowners Liam & Josephine Campion and a special word of thanks to Mary Quigley & Marie Ryan for a very tasty lunch.
Thanks and see you all at the MVAT in July:)
