"The No Hopers " have confirmed their drivers. Kilkenny man, Stefan Walsh has commandeered the experienced John McAssey who are both in Starlets. They will be joined by James Mansfield in his agile Mini who will be on song following his very successful run yesterday at the TDC beginners Autotest.

Three more teams have thrown their hats into the ring today and I'll post them shortly. We are currently working on the final running order and will post these online along with the final instructions before Friday evening. Anyone who cannot make it on Sunday please let me know.

Joe Downey proudly heads up the "The Pylon Destroyers" but secretly hopes they won't live up to their name. He is partnered with Brian Murphy (who has shown good pace on his first few outings in a Starlet) and Karen Gaffney who will be neat & tidy in her nimble Mini.
Next up is " The 3 Degrees". The ever improving Lyndsay Doran is leading this all
Starlet team and her two wing men are fellow ALMC members Noel Devlin and
Ian Downey. Ian had a good run at this event last year and hopes to be earn the slagging rights over Joe. Rest assured, Lyndsay will have her team firing on all cylinders in her quest for team /club glory.
Last but by no means least we have a mixed team. Mark Doran ( Escort ) Eddie Peterson (Mini) and Simon Echlin (Nova) make up this potent team who have a wealth of skill & experience between them. All three have proven they are quick on all sorts of terrain and will be ones to watch. The only thing they lack is a name so please help them out with some suggestions!

Final Instructions
Start Location : Cow Lane Cottage, Burgage, Blessington, Co Wicklow.
GPS ref: N 53.16480 W 006.53770
Times
Sign on 8:00 am
Drivers Briefing @ 9.00 am
First Car starts 9:30 am
Passengers / Navigators
All passengers & navigators must sign on and pay €5 personal accident insurance premium.
Seat Belts
Seat belts are mandatory for both driver and passenger on all tests and road sections.
Tyres
Only road tyres are allowed on the driven wheels, no M&S or Knobbly tyres are allowed.
Double Drivers
On tests where the start and finish are located in the same location, the 1st driver does the test and then returns to the start of the test to swap drivers. We have put another car between the double drivers so by the time this car has finished the test the 2nd driver can slot back in.
On tests where the start and finish are in different locations, the first driver starts as normal without the 2nd driver. The start marshal will instruct you as to the correct route to return to the start where they can slot back in for the 2nd driver. The first driver needs to be a passenger for the 2nd driver on these tests.
Starting Tests.
We have a full entry and a busy schedule i.e. 18 tests in total so it important that all drivers arrive at the start of the tests ready to go.
Fuel
There are ample Petrol Stations along the route. we received support from Texaco in Blessington so please return the favour and support them as you will be passing by during the day
Lunch
Lunch (after test 9 ) will be at the start in Burgage ( rolls and coffee will be provided ) bring the rest yourself . As we have so many tests to get through there is only 30mins for lunch.
General Safety
Please help us to ensure that this event is a great success by following the instructions of the officials and marshals at all times. Please drive with due care and consideration for other road users on the road sections. Anyone observed driving in an inappropriate manner will be excluded.
Thank you for supporting TDC & the chosen charities, St John’s Ward in Crumlin Hospital and Barretstown gang camp (last year we raised nearly €4000) and we wish you a very enjoyable and safe day.
Best of luck!

As per usual from TDC, another fantastic event, great tests and superb hospitality in Burgage. Many thanks to Declan, Phelix and all the marshals who made the day what it was.

Another excellent event from Declan, if Carlsberg did Multivenues they'd have Declan as C.O.C As Philip has said the hospitality at Burgage was superb, a bad place for someone with a sweet tooth Thanks to all the marshals and timekeepers for doing a magnificent job, without you the event wouldn't run. To the competitors thanks for the entertainment.
And finally, great to see a Mini on the top of the results well done James, we may get Eamonn back out in the Mini next year for a proper battle

Another excellent event, thanks to Declan and all the marshalls who ran things so smoothly!!
Some of the tests were tough on the car especially as the day progressed and tests got rougher and ruts got deeper. I got briefly beached going through the trees at on the final test. The car developed trouble earlier in the day after the second test at Murphys but made it to the end despite not being able to maintain idle and misfiring on tests.
Unfortunately the car didn't make it much further, on my way out of Blessington it died and refused to restart. Can I say a massive thank you to Eddie Fitzgerald for stopping, arranging with Joe Reynolds to hold onto the car for the night, towing me up to the farm and driving me to the Luas. Thanks Eddie!!
Edit: I forgot to say thanks to Joe Doran for the push starts during the day and Joe Reynolds for minding the car for the night

A big thankyou to all involved at Declans MVAT! A great day, great venues, and faultlessly run. Brilliant to see so many differing types of tests in such a compact route.
