Was chatting to a Retro competitor today who told me that there might only be one Retro event next year, The Circuit Retro. Please tell me this is not true Sad

Speedy

Spurious !

TDC event is " in hands ", as per committee meetings

The COC would be grateful if someone could create about 300 miles of good route, with test sites, that has never been used before ! Equally, to win the lotto would be nice !

Also; cant see Noel not going again after how well this year went for him.

Gossip and blogging : can produce rubbish rumours

Tim

Thanks for that Tim

As for TDC event, how about a return to Kilkenny & Tipperary similar to the route run by Michael Gabbett a few yrs ago

The only problem with Kilkenny Tipp area is logistics of setting the route. If memory serves, Fred Bent set that rally in a solid 2 weeks and stayed with Micky Gabbet during that time. It just costs too much. The other main issue is setting the night nav i.e issues with PR. So if a rally could be arranged that was shorter, held a night section on private grounds, and was in the confines of greater dublin wicklow area, it would be great. So, any ideas???

Or maybe not. Outline rumour may have truth in it .

Other things bubbling under ; the nature of some replacement events may be more testy : less navvy !

Money and numbers are problems.

Too many events can put off competitors and organisers. Not our type events; but there have been a horrible amount of event cancellations this year ( hill climbs, autocrosses, oddball events).

Keep your ear to the ground and your eyes on this website.

TDC have a bit of an issue in that we run a lot of events anyway ( one a month ! ) so dont really have too much scope for more ! Ronnie G recently suggested I was going for a world record as acting as COC !

"Our" type of motorsport is like rearing kids : it doesnt get easier - just keeps changing.

So for the younger/newer people: it would be good if you 'formulated' your ideas of what you would like ( write it down and think a bit about the problems/ issues that might arise )

In conclusion. Rory : you cant have a 50 round beginners championship !
