This came up in conversation today at the ALMC event about running a 6 or 8 round multivenue autotest championship in 2010. The basic format would be either 6 rounds and best 4 to count(2 in North and 2 in South) or 8 rounds with best 6 to count (3 in North and 3 in South). I believe that a few more multivenue events are being planned for next year in the Republic and there seems to be a good few in the North so finding events shouldn't be a problem.

Anyone got any suggestions or ideas on this that they'd like to share. We hope to get a few people together after Christmas to get this up and running so all feedback welcome.

Post MVAT Champiomship Reply with quote
This proposal has been on the cards since the IMRC Retro and two of the Retro Clubs ( Cork and IMRC- are on board....TDC to respond) where the Test and Special Test Sections would form part of the MV Champiomship along with TDC's events and now the ALMC event..

The deadline for application to MI by a Club is Nov 1st under new rules.......

If anyone is interested, contact me or Eddie Fitzgerald as we have done a lot of work on the subject..

The Motorsport Ireland regulations covering Championship Permits don't apply to this suggestion - Appendix 15 of the Yearbook, covering the procedures and requirements for c'ship permits, very specifically cover Rallies, Races and Hillclimbs. They don't apply to other branches of the sport, such as Autotests.

Navigation Trials and Retros are included under the general term "Rallies" as they used to be called rallies, and are mentioned in the sections of Appendix 15, but autotests are not, so there is no November 1 deadline and no need to apply for a c'ship permit.
