Slatequarries Vintage Tulip Run |
|
Hi folks,
Slatequarries Classic Car Club are having an overnight run this weekend 3rd & 4th October. This event promises to be great fun. The run is done using Tulip Maps and usually encompasses at least one old Circuit Of Ireland stage. All events run by the Slatequarries club attract historic rally cars. The overnight hotel for this event is being kept secret, basically you have to use the tulip maps to find it. The event starts in New Ross, Co Wexford on Sat 3rd Oct at 12pm.
Hope some of you might be interested in this or future events they run. The club put a huge amount of effort into these events. They are amazing fun, and the overnight is always in a 4 or 5 star hotel, with dinner & prizegiving etc.
Would be good to get some new people doing these events.

No website yet. Club is working on it though. The club is basically the classic car branch of the Carrick On suir Motor Club. They have 4 events a year. An overnight in May, another overnight in October, a single day event using the Glen Of Aherloe stages between Christmas and New Year and they have a show during the summer.
I'll take some pics. Next job is to get the car running properly before the weekend!

Meeting in the car park up from Tesco in New Ross at 11 on Sat, first car hopefully away at 12, at 1 minute intervals.
I've been using up hydrolastic fluid faster than it can be produced! Think I've got it sorted at last. Timing done tonight, 7 degrees before top dead centre is not the easiest thing in the world to achieve! Just the carbs to balance tomorrow night. Life would be very boring without a mini!
Think there'll be 20 or so cars out, you should come up for a look. Better still you should do the run. Trying to persuade a navigator wasn't the easiest either
