what engines ? corsa/ nova |
|
hi all thinking of kiting out a car for autotesting , either a nova, corsa or a micra
was looking to know what kind of engines competitors use in there vaux 1.2 /1.4/1.6
will be looking to do lighthearted autotests + multivenue + farms, lanes , dont mind doing suspension work for differnt events ,
also would the micra k11 not be slightly under powered?
would like a starlet , but unbelivable hard to source up in the north

Hi, Welcome along to the site.. If its between the Micra and Nova, the Nova would be best as the Micra has a very weak reverse gear .. Its usual to fit a 1.6 8v to the Nova... I'm not too familiar with the nova and hopefully someone else can fill you in on that.. The setup for multi-venues and regular autotests is very different.. You're probably better going with the softer multi-venue setup and getting practice at autotest events..

Hi,
Again welcome to tdc website,
The Corsa is definately a better choice, better engine, gearbox and handling. It just so happens that I have an autotest corsa for sale ready to go. Its a very competitive car and helps a learner to grasp the basics of autotesting very quickly.
If your interested in coming to view or drive the car, gimme a shout back.

The nove is purely an autotesting car. It runs the f10 gearbox, which is four speed, but has better 1st ratio for autotesting and multivenues.
It is by no means road legal. But is a very competitive autotest car. If you would like to contact me, my number is +353 879860984.
I can send pics, but theres already one on the current page. If you look at the four cars on the top of the page (westfield, mini, mini, Nova), the nova is my car, Jimmy Pringle had driven it in that event,
Mark.
