2013 TDC Beginners Championship : Dates

If it's time to get thinking about getting involved in motorsport in 2013, you should start think of preparing a car, and yourself, for the 2013 TDC Beginners and Novices Championship. The dates are listed below including a couple of 'borrowed' events ; thanks to Birr (new in for 2013) and Wexford for that .

5 from 7 to count ; class awards subject to support. ( and I dont mean red Starlets, white Starlets, silver Starlets ................ !). All welcome to any and all events.

DATES:

Sunday 12th May 2013 ; TDC James Pringle Memorial and we hope to have some level of pre-event tuition/practice from some of our experts.

Sunday 19th May 2013 ; Birr & District as suggested by Eoin Longworth. They are having a club beginners tuition/practice event on Saturday aimed at motorsport starters , but Sunday is the real beginners/novices event. An excellent first running in 2012 means this is a must-do in 2013.

Wednesday 5th June : subject to confirmation; TDC in Dublin 18. Another must do ; space may be at a premium but it is helpful in improving skill levels. And fun. Don't forget Ruthie's barbaque, too !

Sunday 11th August ; TDC. I have'nt really thought about this yet but ran very well the last two years . Hope for more of the same.

Sunday 6th October ; Wexford Motor Club courtesy of Rory Power. Its some way off but we are sure to get that different Power slant on an event that has been well received since its inception.

Sunday 20th October : usually Mondello. & no reason not to, Back to our roots, in a way.

Saturday 16 November : TDC Howard Wilde Memorial Hewison (National) Championship Round. At this stage you have hopefully advanced to a level where a National round is the way to finish off.

Varied and challenging. May the best man (competitor) win. I have to say the standard in recent years has been exceptional but it must be time for the cup to come back to Leinster, from Munster and Northern Ireland ! The level of travelling support indicates the benefits in experience to be gained from this championship. It is the best and cheapest way to get onto the motosport ladder. Hope to see lots of you involved during the year.

It is a great championship Tim, I learnt a lot doing last years one and I really enjoyed every single one.Great value for money and very competitive, Hopefully I will have my mini ready in time for the first one and get some more practice in.

Normal service will be resumed...... : The first corner car-park in Mondello (BIG thanks to them, John & Ian) beside the race-school garage. 10.00 am sign on for 11.00 start. Tests are sorted : expressions of interest from person(s?) from Birr, some of the regulars, change of duties for one of 'the crew', and now your good self, Brian !
