| | Anyone know what sections are being used for the tests? Is there many tests? |
There should be approx 20 tests.. It will be a mixture of rallycross, circuit & other places on the site none of us will have driven...
Rember folks.. Road legal tyres only.... No gravel or M&S tyres...

The Trial Drivers Club is hosting a Multivenue type Autotest in Mondello Park on Sunday 31st January.
TDC have the full use of Mondello Park International Racing Circuit, including the demanding and testing Rallycross Circuit. The emphasis will be on fun. Flowing, simple tests, with neither reversing nor complicated manoeuvres, will appeal to all of the drivers, whatever their skill level. Nonetheless, the different surfaces will make the tests more challenging than they may at first appear.
Drivers will be kept busy all day as there will be six tests each of which will have to be completed three times. To round off proceedings, there will be a “super test“.
This is TDC's first running of this particular format. The prospect seems to have whetted the appetite of, in particular, the autotest fraternity. The entry list had to be closed a month ago. At that stage, there were 63 entered – the Club had hoped for 50! As well as quantity, there is also quality. Current Hewison Champion, Eddie Peterson will be one to watch. He will be closely challenged by multiple Hewison Championship winner, Eamonn Byrne, in his agile Mini Cooper S. Multiple British & Irish Rallycross Champion, Dermot Carnegie, will be especially at home on the loose sections. He will be entertaining, and quick. Steve Griffin, who is a former Leinster Trophy winner, as well as three-in-a-row Hewison champion, will not be letting any of the above have it their own way as he pedals his Kadett to good effect. Another Hewison galactico, JJ Farrell, will be enjoying rear wheel drive action for a change in his Escort. The current Abarth Saloon Car Champion, Liam Denning, is leaving his slicks at home. It will be interesting to see how he copes with the different surfaces. Peter Lynch has made his mark in every form of motorsport over the years – he should feature. Any of the above is capable of taking top honours on the day. However, there are many others including Frank Lenehan, Clive Peterson, John Byrne and James Wilson to name but a few who will be keeping everyone on their toes. James is one of a good crowd coming down from the North. Another of these is Noel Cochrane, whose virtuosity, as he persuades his Midget to seemingly defy quite a few laws of physics, is a sight to behold.
There will be a vast array of cars competing, including numerous Minis, Escorts, & MG Midgets. These will be joined by a considerable number of Starlets, which are becoming increasingly popular for this type of event. Out-and-out autotest cars are not allowed. Neither are gravel tyres.
TDC would like to thank the Management & Staff at Mondello Park for the kind use of their facilities and for their help & support in hosting this event.

Under Orders From Ronnie, could all Marshals turn up at half eight Sunday morning, please. In response to Rorys question, yes the more marshals the merrier.
