Format: The event will consist of tests in a single venue. The Tests will off the open nature.

Tests: The Tests will be designed to suit everyone & will be easy to remember. Tests will be of an open nature. Use of Seatbelts is compulsory.

Licence Requirements: All Drivers must hold a valid 2017 competition licence, which must be available for inspection at Check In. One-Event Licences will be available at a cost of €25 and must be pre booked in Advance .

Penalties: Failure to start when notified by the Marshals will result in a 5 Second Penalty being applied.
The Time taken for each test will be the penalty for that test, with additional penalties as follows: each initial contact with a pylon: 5 Seconds, each line fault: 5 Seconds.
The maximum loss (including failure) on any test will be the best correct performance overall plus 20 Seconds.
Note: THAT ALL LINES DURING A TEST MUST BE CROSSED BY A CAR’S LEADING WHEELS ONLY – i.e., STOP ASTRIDE ALL LINES.
THERE IS 5 SECOND PENALTY FOR PUTTING THREE OR FOUR WHEELS (or only ONE) ACROSS A LINE.

Entries: Each Driver must complete an entry form. Entries must be sent by Friday 22nd December 2017 to:

Entry Fee: €40 including including CPA Insurance.
Cheques payable to Birr & District Motor Club Ltd.

Classes: 1 Front Wheel Drive Cars up to and including 1300cc.
2 Front Wheel Drive Cars over 1300cc.
3 Rear Wheel Drive Cars.

The onus is on the driver to ensure that He/She is entered into the correct class. Ties will be decided by the better time on test 1, and so on. Drivers may only compete in One Car. Classes may be sub divided pending on numbers.

Cars: ONLY 2WD & NON-TURBOCHARGED CARS ARE ALLOWED. No Passengers may be carried.

Awards: 1st Overall & 1st, 2nd & 3rd in each Class. Best Ladies, BADMC Driver, Novice Award in Classes 1-3.
Additional Awards may be presented at the discretion of the Club.

Birr Turkey Chaser Autotest Update

Entries are gone over the 40 Mark for the popular 30th December event. 3 Test sites will be used on Concrete & Loose suitable for MVAT & Endurance Cars. Tests will straight forward and not to taxing on the brain.

As quoted by Ian McCulloch in Turbine everybody who does this autotest will leave Garahys will a larger waist line due to the excellent food provided by the Eithne Garahy.

Notable entries include Lee Deane home on leave from the Lebanon, The Garahy Clan current count is 5 Drivers, Kieran, Dearbhaile, Hanna, Jane & Ciaran just in from Austrailia. Mick Boland is parking up the Case Tractor for Christmas and taking a Starlet out of the Garage. Ronan Shanahan still has to find the Car since the Endurance Trial!!!
John McAssey promises to arrive before the Lunch Break. Mick Kehoe is doing the event now following his front page appearance on the TDC Website, who was on Page 3???? Dave Campion, Colin Sheridan & Damien Phillips all promise to appear in Garahy's if survive St Stephens Day in Holfields. Declan Donohoe is bringing along 5 Friends to try there hand at Autotesting. Stefan Walsh is bringing the car home from Galway to Inistioge and to Helfields for Stephens Day and onto Birr for the 30th an interesting road trip!!!! Damien Doran is also stopping off in Birr during his Christmas Holidays. Keith Shaw is debuting his Corrolla for the event and also making his autotest debut. Paddy Fay who recently celebrated his 80th Birthday is driving the Tiny Motorsport Projectile. Patrick O'Leary will travel from Cork to put manners on Eoin Longworth, David Forde & Mick Boland. The Moynan Family will be out on mass for Saturday's event Whitby, Clive & Zara along with Robert & John Gloster. Declan Burke will make an appearance in the VW Beetle along with Michael Hogan in a newly acquired Starlet. Another Cork/Kerry driver is Mr Rally.ie Brian Duggan who is also Birr Bound for Saturday. John Nolan & Aoife Ryan are also coming to put manners on Tiny along with Karl Grehan & Friends!!!
