Post Trailer Insurance Reply with quote
According to my current insurance policy I'm covered to pull a trailer under the following definition:

Quote:
Any detached single-axle trailer not exceeding one half tonne unladen weight but
excluding caravans, mobile homes, trailer tents, boat trailers and any trailer which
incorporates machinery or other equipment.

I rang the insurance company to see what it would cost to extend my coverage for a twin axle trailer and they said there is no facility to extend my coverage and they don't have seperate trailer insurance available. After a being on hold for a bit they came back and told me I would be covered even if it was a twin axle.

I'm not sure I like the fact that if that is the case it isn't in their policy document.

I'm curious to know what others do with regard to coverage for pulling their car transporters.

Thread revival....I'll be renewing my insurance shortly and I was wondering if there is anywhere in Ireland where you can get specific trailer insurance privately (commercial isn't any good to me), I'm not entirely happy with the vague nature of my current insurers trailer coverage.

If you don't want to post publicly about your arrangement then please feel free to PM me.
